Thanksgiving at the McCaffreys!

This year we up to the McCaffrey's Cabin for Thanksgiving, Sheila Dropped David off for his first hunting season ever. He got to experience what it was like to eat a Peanut Butter, Onion and Venison sandwich(not as bad as it sounds actually) just watch out, those onions can be very HOT. Got to hold a shotgun, sit in a booth and watch the snow fall for a couple hours, but it was fun. Next time He'll have to get up a little earlier to catch some deer.

We did a little pre-black friday shopping on the way home... and then Sheila, David and Ashley all decided to brave the mobs and sub-zero Rochester weather and go shopping bright and early. Hitting stores as early as 4am, standing in line for 2 hours and then sprinting through Target, nabbing items off the shelf with no regard for others... NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL SHOPPING!!! We continued to shop until about 11am, with a short McD's break around 8am with Sarah Witt. It was a good day of savings. If we had only held off on our HDTV a little longer...

Tequila Drinking Contest

During our honeymoon they had night events and concerts or the circus would come by and do performances. One of the nights they called for several volunteers, so my wife, being the wonderful lady she is tossed me up on stage. Once the 10 of us guys are up there... we find out we are throwing a lemon, drinking a shot of mexican tequila and doing a little mexican dance.

I rather than keeping my hat on and doing a little mexican shimmy opted for the speedy gonzalez dance, by throwing the hat down on the ground and dancing around it. The crowd went wild and ended up cheering me to victory. As the winner I got the "honor" of repeating my performance for every one... but this time instead of taking a shot of tequila I had to finish the bottle. (fortunately it was watered down)

It was a fun experience and good honeymoon memory. I had people recognizing me the rest of the trip as the tequila guy.

Honeymoon

We had a very nice honeymoon! We went for a week to Cancun and stayed at the fabulous Excellence Resort, just north of downtown Cancun. We did lots of activities, from food sculpting classes to winning a tequila drinking contest... but we mainly just sat by the pool, worked on our tans and ate at the different restaurants. We then decided to go shopping in town for souvenirs and gifts for friends and family, so David would let Sheila browse around the booths first and then once she found something David would come in and barter the price down in spanish.. they were always dissapointed to hear him speak spanish..."I give you the Mexican price" they would all say.

David made good friends with the cab driver, learning all about the guys life as he drove us around town. Mario was such a nice cabby that we asked for him by name on the last day and he gave us a 2 hour tour of cancun and let us shop around for a while before we headed to the airport...needless to say we tipped him very well.

Before we left Sheila met a couple who got married on the same day we did, and happened to live in NJ about an hour or so from where we live! So Steve and Carolyn Little became our new friends for the week. We hung out and went to dinner together and went out on a little sailboat, we had a blast with them!

The whole week was spectacular, perfect weather, did not rain once... did not go above 85 and didn't drop below the low 70's at night..what more can we say other than it was GREEEEAAAATTTTTT!
